New Encounter

Noctune records on your iOS device — your phone is the microphone. The web app is for reviewing and editing. From the web, you’ll either upload an existing recording or initiate a visit that syncs from your phone.

Recording on iOS

  1. Open the Noctune iOS app and tap Record.
  2. Select the patient (or create one on the fly — see Patients).
  3. Pick a template if you want the SOAP note formatted a specific way.
  4. Talk through the appointment normally — no scripts, no trigger words.
  5. Tap Stop when the appointment ends. The encounter uploads automatically and appears in the web app.

Tip: You can pause and resume on iOS — pauses don’t add to the audio file, so there’s no dead air in the transcript.

Uploading audio from the web

If you already have a recording — a phone voice memo, dictaphone file, or audio from another scribe tool — upload it directly from the web. See Supported Formats & Limits for what’s accepted.

What happens next

Once audio is submitted, Noctune transcribes it and drafts a SOAP note — typically in under a minute. When it’s ready the encounter moves from Processing to Draft and you can open it for review.
