California Privacy Notice
Effective Date: June 13, 2026
Version: 1.0
This California Privacy Notice supplements the information in our Privacy Policy and applies solely to residents of California. We adopt this notice to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA"). Any terms defined in the CCPA have the same meaning when used in this notice.
Noctune ("we," "us," or "our") provides an AI-powered veterinary voice-transcription platform to licensed veterinary professionals and their authorized staff. We do not direct our Service to consumers in their personal capacity, but we provide this notice for transparency to California residents who interact with us.
Categories of Personal Information We Collect
In the preceding 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information:
- Identifiers — name, email address, and account credentials managed by our identity provider.
- Internet or other network activity — log data such as IP address, browser type, access times, feature usage, and diagnostic information.
- Audio and clinical content — audio recordings of veterinary consultations and the transcriptions, SOAP notes, and discharge summaries generated from them, along with associated patient (animal) information.
- Commercial information — records of the services provided to your account.
We collect this information directly from you when you create an account and use the Service, and automatically through your interactions with the Service. We do not collect geolocation data, biometric information, or information from advertising networks.
How We Use Personal Information
We use the personal information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and secure the Service;
- Generate transcriptions and clinical notes from your audio recordings;
- Improve our transcription accuracy and the Service;
- Communicate with you about your account and the Service;
- Administer accounts and Service access; and
- Comply with our legal obligations.
A fuller description is available in our Privacy Policy.
How We Disclose Personal Information
We disclose personal information to service providers who help us operate the platform — for example, transcription providers, large language model providers, and cloud infrastructure providers — under data processing agreements that restrict their use of the information to providing services to us. We may also disclose personal information to comply with the law or to a successor in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
In the preceding 12 months, we have disclosed each category of personal information listed above to service providers for these business purposes.
Sale or Sharing of Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding 12 months, and we do not use third-party advertising trackers. Because we do not sell or share personal information, no opt-out is necessary; we maintain a Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page to confirm this.
We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know and access — request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclose it.
- Delete — request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions (such as legal record-keeping obligations).
- Correct — request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
- Opt out of sale or sharing — direct us not to sell or share your personal information. As noted above, we do not sell or share personal information.
- Limit use of sensitive personal information — direct us to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We use such information only as necessary to provide the Service.
- Non-discrimination — not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising any of these rights.
How to Exercise Your Rights
To submit a request to know, delete, or correct, contact us at privacy@noctune.com with the subject line "California Rights Request." We will need to verify your identity before responding, which may require you to confirm information we already hold about you, such as your email address.
You may make a verifiable request twice within a 12-month period at no charge. We will respond within the time period required by law.
Authorized Agents
You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may require the agent to provide proof that you gave them signed permission to act for you, and we may still require you to verify your own identity directly with us.
Shine the Light
California's "Shine the Light" law permits California residents to request information about the disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
Financial Incentives
We do not offer financial incentives in exchange for the collection, sale, or retention of personal information.
Changes to This Notice
We may update this California Privacy Notice from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and post the updated notice on this page.
